A time for sad goodbyes and joyful Hellos!
This summer has been a busy time at Tobias School of Art and Therapy with people coming and going, some ending their journey with us and others just beginning. We have also enjoyed people passing through our doors taking part in CPD summer courses as they continue their therapy education and personal development.
Goodbye to the Rye Cohort
Our second year students have now completed their regular term time training at Tobias and now embark on their placement year. Although we see each other periodically in their third year, it is now time for them to put all the skills they have learned in the past two years into practice as they embark on their placements in their third year.
We mark our farewells at Tobias with a celebration, with fire songs and laughter, and as usual, lots of cake!
We wish them well!

Hello to the Hazels
The Hazel is often associated with wisdom, learning and insight with connection to enhanced intuition and poetic inspiration.
Our new Modular Cohort started immediately after term time ended. The Tobias Modular training is organised differently to the term time training. These students come for intensive blocks on site and the remaining studies take place online in between. The training takes 4 years. This was the Hazel’s first module and we were delighted to meet them. They began their training with enthusiasm and passion and we feel privileged to join them on their transpersonal journey.

Continued Professional Development Summer Courses
In the last two weeks of July we held three continued professional development short courses for therapists and counsellors.
- Transforming Transgenerational Trauma with Kate Smith
- Elements and Ethers as creative forces for the foundation of the world (Veil Painting) with Gill David
- An Introduction to Clayfield Therapy with Gemma Hone
The courses were very popular and ran successfully – we look forward to adding our next short course / summer programme to the website.
