Free Resource for inspiration for working with children | Dick Bruin
Tobias of Tobias, Dick Bruin was born in Holland in 1953, and has been an active Waldorf teacher since 1975. Dick has devoted his life to teaching at Waldorf schools in Holland. The national Dutch tradition of blending the artistic with the social is characteristic in all Bruin’s work. His books, Painting at School and Form Drawing are inspiring reminders of how to build strong lifeforces through steady artistic work.
His latest project is the YouTube channel he opened in January 2025. He is publishing it free for teachers, parents or therapists worldwide. There will be more than 25 videos about Painting and School. The content includes the following: a complete curriculum from Kindergarten to grade 12 for the Painting; A video about Goethe’s colour theory with the demonstration of the most important experiments; Two special video’s about Rudolf Steiner’s colour theory with the demonstration of the image colours and the three lustre colours (how to use it for minerals/plants/animals and human beings); charcoal curriculum grade 6 – 9; veil painting 6 – 8 and grade 10 11 and 12 and hundreds of examples by pupils. In all more than 12 hours of video time and 45 years of painting experience. The channel will be releasing videos weekly.
